These fixtures have a twisted iron rod running down the center of the fixture. A brass canopy gives the fixture a two tone appearance. A nice contrast in materials. Design cut metal surrounds each electric socket. A flame shaped light bulb looks best, but also a small tennis ball shaped light bulb might be more your taste. Use your imagination when fitting a light bulb. Have fun. I picture these in a long room with a fireplace. They scream 1910-1930s period Arts & Crafts.
